The unconditional talent of a portrait painter in the novel by I.S. Turgenev "Fathers and Sons"

From the very beginning of reading the novel "Fathers and Sons", each reader is convinced of the unconditional talent of the writer in the depiction of the characters he created. The author amazingly captures the most subtle features of any hero, expressing his very essence with the verbal expressions he uses. Moreover, in the portrait description of the characters, he immediately makes the reader feel his own attitude towards them. When describing the servant of Peter at the very beginning of the work, the author rewards it with such features that everyone immediately understands the writer's own attitude to the character. How could he endow a person with whom he would treat positively with such moments in the description as "small dull eyes" or, for example, "courteous body movements." No, in these epithets Turgenev immediately makes it clear to the reader, which treats Peter with ill-concealed hostility.

Specifically, the author writes about the main character in a different way - directly about Evgeny Bazarov. "His face was enlivened with a calm smile and expressed self-confidence and a sharp mind." Strictly speaking, the creator of the work spends much more time on describing the main character and the characteristic words, which he considers frankly unsuitable for other mediocre persons, due to their unworthiness of the "high syllable".

The author describes Kirsanov Pavel Petrovich quite characteristically, who is the antipode of the main character in the novel. The epithets used to describe him are quite colorful, such as, for example, "retained youthful harmony" and at the same time, the writer does not consider this character to be fully positive. For the deep heartfelt dramas of Kirsanov, Turgenev uses the term "dragged along", expressing this, however, not a negative characterization of the hero, but rather the complete worthlessness of the object of his passion.

Considering all of the above, we can safely call Turgenev not only a writer, but also a talented artist who could paint any situation and any character with a word much better than many others would do it with a brush.
