In the army, it is not individuals who are formed, but people who are often embittered and do not understand their purpose. They do a lot of things that I can't call deliberate decisions. The society demanded to solve many issues so that duels could take place. In fact, society pushed people to kill. Military and noble views on honor were formed here. In fact, people were dying.

George Romashov acted according to his conscience. He fulfilled Sasha's request: he did not shoot her husband Nikolayev in a duel. Only now he fired a shot. Thus ended the life of Romashov, through whose eyes we, the readers, can see the foundations of society.
