The films play an important role in our life. What can be better, than to relax after hard working day and enjoy favourite film! Movies help us to travel to distant countries, dream about places, where we have never been and be witness of different dramatical situations.
The are a lot of different sorts of films: feature films, horrors, thrillers, action films, westerns, documentaries, travelogues, comedies, animated cartoons and TV-series.
We know, that children are fond of watching funny animated cartoons, the youth prefer scary thrillers and horror films about murders and serial killers, the elderly people prefer feature films, documentaries about historical events, travelogues and old comedies.
We can see our favourite films or cartoons either in the cinema’s chair or in the cosy atmosphere of our own house. As I am often short of time I prefer to watch a good film on TV.
Some years ago people all over the world used to visit cinema with their families every week and cinema houses were often overcrowded. But at present modern video production had flooded the market and the cinema became less popular. People prefer to stay at home, download something from Internet or just watch favourite movies online. As I have said I do not go to the cinema and I consider myself not to be a regular cinema-goer.
As for me I prefer romantic films about love. My favourite film is “Gone with the wind”. It is the screen version of the immortal novel “Gone with the wind” by Margaret Mitchell. It is a coloured film. Though it came out in 1939, it still very popular. We can see typical Southern states of USA with its own traditions, way of life, typical clothes and farms. The main character of this film is Scarlett O’Hara – young beauty who is deeply in love with Ashley Wilkes. That young gentleman choose another lady and broke the heart of the stubborn green-eyed lady. Another interesting character is Rhett Butler – typical handsome seducer. He tried to win Scarlett’s heart, but that was really difficult task for Rhett. Besides all these love wars, we see real war scenes – fearful conflict between North and South of USA. I will not tell you what happened in the end of this love story – you should watch it by yourself. I laughed and cried together with main characters. I will admit, that this movie is very much worth seeing. I enjoyed every moment of this amazing film.
