The influence of historical events on the fate of a person in the work of the same name by Sholokhov

Essay for grade 11 on the topic "The influence of historical events on the fate of a person in the work of the same name by Sholokhov"

At the very beginning, you should dwell on the very concept of a historical event. Usually, a "historical event" is understood as a short or long action performed over a certain time period, fixed for the transmission of results to descendants. It was not in vain that M. Sholokhov called his work "The Fate of a Man", since the impact of historical events on the life of an ordinary young man, Andrei Sokolov, is revealed to the reader as a red thread throughout the entire work.

With the onset of war, Andrei lost everything that he could have considered his own: family and home. The very situation in which the protagonist finds himself changes him, gives him new strength to experience the old and find a new one in his existence. After the end of the war, he discovers a new meaning in his own life, showing concern for an ordinary boy. The writer makes the reader understand that in difficult times, losing something, a person is able to find something, gaining new meaning in his life. In the person of Andrei Sokolov, the writer portrays the entire Russian people, who lost so much of their former life, but managed to revive after a terrible war.

Sholokhov draws a similar picture in front of his readers in his other work, "Quiet Don". Although the events in the work are attributed to the times of the First World War, the writer again shows through one character the whole people, together with their losses and hardships, but with a subsequent return to new values. And even though Andrei Sokolov and Grigory Melikhov do not have the slightest similarity to each other, they are still capable of equally demonstrating the possibility of finding a new world, depriving them of their old life. Both Sokolov and Melikhov represent an average representative object. The hero is forced to confront his fate alone. And as a result of this successful opposition, the life of the hero blooms with new colors.
