Archipelagos A.I. Solzhenitsyn

Over the past few years, all high school students have had a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the work of the writer. Previously, Solzhenitsyn was not taught at school, and his prose was not published at all. The writer is deservedly a Nobel laureate. True, for recognition in the West, they had to embellish their creativity with the horrors of the Soviet system.

In the 60s of the last century, Solzhenitsyn's story One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich was published. Since its release, it has made a splash in Soviet society, raised on the songs of Vysotsky and Okudzhava.

The main character of the story, in fact, Ivan Denisovich is an ordinary Soviet citizen, one of millions of his own kind, in whose fate the totalitarian machine of our state has been imprinted with its heavy gait. After all, such a quality as philanthropy was completely unusual for him. Initially, the story received from its author the name "Gu-854", in full accordance with the camp number of the protagonist. With this title, the author provoked the reader to move in the direction opposite to the collective pathos.

In the story of A.I. Solzhenitsyn contains many tragic incidents from the hero's camp existence. Such details were familiar to the writer by no means by hearsay, because he himself walked this road (Solzhenitsyn's camp number is Gu-282). In the deployment of various destinies and the description of such characters, unlike in their characters, there is no attempt by the writer to complain. His work is a balanced mention of the tragedy of the entire people. The hero's sane mental activity and his inner perseverance evoke sincere respect and sympathy from the reader.

Observation and in-depth study of the camp theme, with which the writer himself was intimately familiar, was continued in the monumental work of Solzhenitsyn "The Gulag Archipelago". For many years, the writer worked on the creation of this creation, collecting eyewitness accounts and his own tests. He actively covers the history of the emergence and further functioning of the repressive system in our country.
