Cowardice is the worst Vice
Essay on the novel M. Bulgakov "Master and Margarita", 11 class.

"The master and Margarita" - the most significant and brightest product in the works of Bulgakov. The novel is complex in construction and content. The author wrote it 11 years, until his death, and dedicated to his wife Elena. Here the Evangelical events, mystical stories and the life of the ordinary residents of Moscow 20-30-ies of the last century. People were afraid of everything, fear has become the norm. Written during the Stalinist repression of the novel was released only 25 years after the author's death.

The novel is multifaceted and reveals the diversity of human emotions, problems of good and evil, honesty and dishonesty, generosity and greed, loyalty and betrayal. Anyone has both virtues and vices. It is through the prism of his characters, the author reveals to us all the facets of human vices.

Very interesting the image of the devil in the novel. He never pushes on the path of sin, not tempting temptations, on the contrary he punishes the wicked, exposing their vile vices. Sums up all human vices the Grand ball of Satan, and projecting them on the scale of eternity.

But the worst of human vices the author believes to be cowardice. Anyone can be afraid of something, but cowardice is based on petty fears, which destroy the soul and consciousness.

Bulgakov contrasts the cowardly Wizard, and Pontius Pilate, brave, honest and spiritually strong Margarita and Yeshua.

The master, despite his talent, weak in spirit, he abandons his manuscript, allows yourself break.

Pontius Pilate bold and fearless in battle, but afraid of losing their power and authority. For the sake of power he flouts the truth, takes cowardice, condemns to death an innocent man.

Despite the idea of clevernet of cowardice and the inevitable punishment for a terrible crime, at the end of the novel the author shows the moon, the road that goes to Pontius Pilate and Yeshua-as a way of forgiveness and mercy.
