Good and evil in the work of A.I. Solzhenitsyn's "Matryonin Dvor"
Good and evil are opposite concepts, which are so familiar to us from childhood. We often ask ourselves the question: what is good and what is evil? What is the difference between them? From the very birth we are read fairy tales and books about how good and evil fight against each other. This topic was and will always be relevant, because every person throughout his life has to deal with these two concepts more than once.

It is generally accepted that evil is a step over morality, and to be good means not to commit bad deeds yourself and to suppress evil deeds from outside. A kind person tries to be not indifferent to others and seeks to prevent evil intentions against people. It is always more difficult for such a person to live in the world, because he often has to sacrifice something or infringe on himself in his interests.

However, the satisfaction that you were able to help someone, made someone else's life easier, is worth any sacrifice. It is not for nothing that it is believed that in life everything returns like a boomerang: good returns in return with good, and evil - no less evil. A good deed always fills a person with happiness, joy and satisfaction, while an evil deed only concentrates anger and aggression in their bearer.

A striking example of a person who is good, in my opinion, is Matryona Vasilyevna - the main character of the story by A. I. Solzhenitsyn "Matryona's yard". A simple peasant woman wants to help everyone and strives to be useful everywhere, but she never asks for a reward in return. She is happy simply from the fact that she can make someone's life easier and take part in it with her gratuitous care.

Fate was not kind to her: she lost all her children, lives very poorly in a dilapidated house with a goat and a bent-legged cat. Matryona is not angry with everyone and does not complain about life. Her broad soul allowed her to take up the girl Kira - the youngest daughter of her ex-fiancé. And although the adopted daughter never felt tender feelings for her, Matryona did not take offense at the girl and understood everything. She raises Kira in love and care, shares her modest life with her and gives her the room.

Unfortunately, a tragedy happens to the woman: while dragging a heavy load across the railway tracks, she falls under a train and dies. And only after the death of her mother, Kira realizes all the kindness and love with which Matryona treated her. She sincerely cries and laments her irreparable loss.

In the story "Matryonin Dvor", the complete opposite of good is Faddey Mironovich, cruel to the marrow of his bones. Once he loved Matryona, but during the service he disappeared without a trace. When his family lost hope of the soldier's return, they took Matryona to their house as the wife of his younger brother, Yefim. Returning home, Thaddeus wanted to kill his ex-bride and brother. After a while, he could not come to terms with what had happened, the man became embittered, and his cruelty knew no bounds: he brutally beat his wife and caused the death of unfortunate Matryona, to whose commemoration he did not even come - he could not forgive her for her betrayal ...

Over time, his resentment only grew, and he did not understand that Matryona's marriage to his brother was forced. All the years, the woman heroically helped the Thaddeus family overcome difficulties. He could not forgive her: even after the death of his former lover, he cynically shares her meager property.

In conclusion, we can say the following: no one can completely eradicate evil, but it is necessary to fight it. From childhood, fairy tales have led us to this simple truth, because good always triumphs over evil in them. The modern world is mired in horrible atrocities: wars, terrorist attacks and violence. The task of each person should be the goal of outweighing the peaceful and good existence of people over the merciless evil that is being created. To do this, each of us must learn to forgive insults, plant goodness and love in our souls and share them with the people around us.
