Is it always a moral decision we make?
Quite often in life, a person has to deal with situations when he is faced with a choice. At this moment, he begins to think - what is better to do, what is the right thing to do? As a result, a person makes a decision that he considers the most correct in the current situation. However, at first glance, a decision that is not always correct is moral.
Everyone, having made their choice, believes that they have chosen the optimal and correct path that will help them not only cope with a difficult situation, but also get out of it with dignity. For example, you are late for school. Run as fast as you can to catch the bus, and you accidentally hit an elderly person who falls. And you, having thrown your apology on the go, continue your journey, not thinking about how the fallen person will rise, how difficult it will be for him to do it, because he is no longer young. On the one hand, you pushed the person unintentionally, but in a hurry, and even asked him for forgiveness, on the other, if you think about it, did you do the right thing? Of course not.
In a hurry, having made the decision that seemed to you the most correct, you could unwittingly harm another person. It seems, well, what's wrong with that, the elderly person will slowly get up and continue on his way. But it may also be the other way around. Because of his age or because he was injured or severely bruised during a fall, he will not be able to rise. In addition, the trauma is much more difficult for the elderly, and sometimes even impossible. To find out if everything ended well, most likely you simply will not succeed: you will most likely leave.
If you think about it, it turns out that formally you did the right thing: you yourself were not late, you did not have any troubles at school due to being late, and you apologized for pushing the person. But from a human point of view, it was necessary to help him rise, since this happened, to make sure that everything was all right with him, and only then continue on his way.
Therefore, it is very important, when making this or that decision, to try to take into account various options for the development of events, to think not only about yourself, about your own interests, but also to think about how it will affect others, what consequences it may have for them. To do this, you should put yourself in the place of another person. Who knows, maybe tomorrow you will find yourself in the place of an elderly man, whose fall was accidentally provoked today ...
