Our school has a wonderful history teacher. In 6th grade, I suddenly discovered an unusual and very important profession of the librarian. The theme of the lesson was the study of the Alexander library, which in our days is the main storage location of extant knowledge of ancient Greece. Over a long period of time about 700 thousand papyrus manuscripts were in the special vault of this room. On this day we were told an interesting story about a boy slave, who was sent to work in the library. The owner of the boy before to permit him to cross the threshold of the library, began to explain about how with some sense of respect and awe to relate to this building. Because the library is a veritable storehouse of all knowledge. She is very wise and has a high degree of learning. Having listened carefully to the specifications issued by the library master, the boy decided that she was a goddess.
Remembering the ignorance of the boy, could not help think of his casual right. Knowledge is a very important thing, and they should be treated with respect. Thanks to the achievements of past years, humanity is able to move into the future.
I was very disappointed by the fact that unfortunately it is not understood by all people. The library of Alexandria over the centuries of its existence was exposed not only to natural test, but there were cases when this building really was in great danger. So one of the conquerors gave the order to burn this great creation. Over the long history of course, died not a few important and unique manuscripts, from the terrible forces of nature of nature, and at the whim of the powerful.
In our region there is a regional Museum, which has a small manuscript came to us from the distant past. These beautiful specimens made by hand. For the Creator of these works was necessary to spend many forces and time for this miracle.
It is hard to imagine how much damage to world history can lead to the destruction of one of these creations. Because most of them exist in a single copy, which means the physical destruction of this creation will disappear forever for all mankind from history.
However barbaric attitude to the historical heritage is evident not only in very ancient times, so in 1812 it is known that Moscow burned by a fire and was badly damaged manuscripts with a brilliant chronicle of "the Word about Igor's regiment". Even today the debate about the authenticity of the restored creation is not silent.
Nowadays, it is also important. People forget about their historical roots, and deliberately trying to cause damage to world culture. It was clearly visible on the example of the military conflict in Syria. In this wonderful historical country forces of the vandals destroyed a huge number of monuments belonging to world heritage. In brotherly Ukraine are subjected to severe destruction of all commemorative structures associated with Communist ideas, which for a long time prevailed in this territory.
The worst thing is when because of the political views of the ideological motives that destroyed unique items and Antiques.
Still, I hope that the time will come when society will be an important world culture. I believe that someday a large number of temples of knowledge scattered throughout the vast territory of our vast country are finally going to get proper respect to their accumulated over many years of wise knowledge. I dream that in these critical areas will be truly loving people in my profession.
Of course the librarian is not a great man among the great mass of people, but it is the connecting link of the accumulated experience of mankind and modern man.
Yes, you say that in the modern world a huge amount of information stored on the Internet, but the data in the digital world depend on many factors. But a book you can just come and take. All very easy and simple.
It the librarian will be able to resolve issues. He will always be able to easily and quickly pick up the necessary literature, which contains in itself all necessary for you information.
Of course every year the volume of important informative files are growing exponentially. Humanity to aspire to a world of new discoveries and obtained the latest advances and developments also need decent storage. Then come to the aid of the modern engineering developments that contribute not only to increased storage of information, but also help professionals of different countries online to share their data.
No matter how evolved our society and by what means of information storage did not use humanity, with these knowledge needs is always a specialist who is sensitive to this world's wealth. In the future for me seems to be the choice of my profession is already evident. I would like to engage in beneficial activities for society.
