Throwing Grigory Melekhov in search of happiness
Quiet Don: Grigory Melekhov's Throwing in Search of Happiness (Grade 11, Literature)

Many novels have been created in Russian literature. However, the 20th century did not bring such bright works as they were in the 19th century. This judgment is true in part, because the past century gave the world the novel "Quiet Don", written by Mikhail Sholokhov.

The main character is Grigory Melekhov. He is a very capricious and strong Cossack. Grisha also honors traditions. By the will of his parents, whose word is law for him, as for any Cossack, he marries Natalya. He did not like the girl.

However, Grigory continues to meet with Aksinya, whom he loves. However, the Cossack, engulfed in revolutionary events, quickly loses himself as a person. He is not satisfied with the power of the Soviets, then he does not like the white movement.

From such reflections and throwing Gregory is lost. He is no longer sure that he can find meaning in Aksinya. The situation was difficult, because Grigory lost his son, and Aksinya was again raped (for the first time she fell under the arm of her father). Grisha punishes her offender, and also beats his beloved. This became another point in the path of Gregory's disappointment.

Melekhov is losing interest in everything. He cannot find happiness, although he is trying to live. The world is crumbling, like the usual way. Sholokhov showed not only the traditions of the Cossacks, but also showed, using the example of Gregory, how the Cossacks are receding into the past. This also creates a special mood.

Neither Natalya nor Aksinya could help Grisha to make him a happy person. Perhaps he simply could not accept the realities that surrounded him.
