V.Ya. Bryusov: features and specifics

Valery Yakovlevich Bryusov was a famous person who burned in the horizon of the Silver Age poetry. It was this poet, carried away in his youth by the work of the French symbolist poets, who did a lot for the Russian direction of Symbolism.

Bryusov united many poets around him. All of them are grateful to the teacher for the fact that he was able to show high poetry, every word of which was verified. Valery Yakovlevich rallied Gumilyov, Mandelstam and others for this reason.

Bryusov's work is filled with sincere feeling. The poet loves hidden meanings. He is straightforward in his hints. This feature distinguishes Bryusov's poetry from many other poets.

Some critics consider Bryusov cold, compare him to a big city: opportunities and talents are abundant, but there is not enough warmth.

Bryusov could call a large lantern a month, admire the light of the stove, reflected in the brass leaves of the palm tree that stood in the poet's room. This is important for understanding Bryusov's sensitivity to colors. Symbolism permeates all the poet's work.

There are many interesting poems in the poet's work. One of the brightest is "The Young Poet", in which Bryusov deduces 2 testaments. Each word is well chosen and takes its place.

However, this is the first impression. Valery Yakovlevich's poems are filled with personal worries and impressions. Only an attentive reader will be able to discern the nuances, subtle shades of the soul. Bryusov went from a "pure" symbolist to a poet pleasant to the soul, who carried the light of poetry. Not everyone can see it, but it is worth studying Bryusov's work in order to understand symbolism.
