What adds to the reader's experience of life experience?
The book can be a cure for heartache, best friend, wise teacher and a good counselor. It is difficult to overestimate the contribution of literature in our lives.

Literary works often raise ethical questions that each of us will have to face in their lives. For example, "the catcher in the rye" Jerome Salinger – the book describes the difficult period of growing up, when one defines their system of values. This work helps to understand that in the world we have to face the fact that maybe we don't like. Such works prepare us for adulthood and help them to part with the children's vision of the world.

Literature helps to develop the ability to reflect and analyze, as well as mental alertness. For example, science fiction is unlikely to help in everyday life, but it raises questions that cannot be ignored. For example, do I need to go to the goal at any cost? Whether people will be able to change the world and explore other planets, not getting rid of our own vices? This literature teaches us to look deeper, to see not just dreams of future technological progress, and to understand what really is the engine of progress, and without which it is not possible. An example is the work "451 Fahrenheit" by ray Bradbury. This work encourages us to think about what will become of society, if you refuse to evolve, how to begin and what is degradation and what are the true values in our lives.

Often novels and plays help us to reflect on different life situations. We can put ourselves in the place of the protagonist and imagine the consequences of certain decisions. Extracting a lesson from history literary characters, we can gain experience that will be useful to us in our own life. For example, "Crime and punishment" Dostoevsky shows what a person faces who crosses the barrier of their conscience. And it is not even about the ultimate punishment, and the moral status of the protagonist throughout the novel. Of course, few dare to act Rodion Raskolnikov, but this work encourages us to reflect on whether any compromise of conscience in all matters.

Someone might assume that the experience of literary characters can enrich a person living in the modern world. But I don't agree with it. Many literary characters have real prototypes. The authors described the time and people who do Gigi at the time. Even if the character and does not imply any specific person, often is a collective image that reflects the overall mood of mind, a certain category of people. Time changes, but human nature remains the same.

So, to acquire experience and to learn from their mistakes is important. But it is equally important to enrich your life experience readers. Books sometimes give us the answers to our questions. Reading quality literature we can acquire moral values that will protect us. No matter how rich nor was human experience, he cannot know everything. However, books open doors to many worlds of other people. And this experience will never be over.
