I really like the gatherings around the fire, where we cook fried meat and bread. This summer, my parents and I went on a picnic in a nearby forest. Daddy marinated the meat, he does it best in the family. I made us all sandwiches. We freed my mom from cooking for a picnic, as she stands at the stove all year round and prepares us delicious porridge in the morning.
Making a fire is a real adventure. Since the night before there was a little rain, finding dry brushwood was a task of increased complexity. The wet branches did not want to catch fire in any way. Dad even wanted to use gasoline to light the fire, but Mom was against it, since we had to cook meat on the fire. But I don't go to school for nothing. In OBZH lessons, we were told that a fire can be quickly kindled if you use dry moss, which can be found under large trees. Together with my dad, we found such a tree near our clearing. And, indeed, under it there was a lot of dry moss, which was protected by the tree from moisture.
We built a simple structure of twigs, in the center of which we put our collected moss. The moss immediately flared up and began to transmit the flame to the twigs, which gradually began to light up. Then dad began to put thicker branches, as a result of which we got a full-fledged fire, from which we could keep warm.
On this day we had a great time, cooked a fragrant barbecue and laughed a lot. Dad then told his friends for a long time about how smart his son was, and that he did not go to school in vain.
