So what is it to be a "real friend"? Can you tell by your actions whether you have a faithful comrade? I have had several cases where I could determine who is my real friend and who is not.
Once in the winter we went to ride a hill with my friend Vitya. I had a big sled and we had a lot of fun there. In the evening, older guys who did not have a sled came to the hill. They took them away from me by force. I was offended because there was nothing I could do about them. There were more of them and they were stronger. But Vitya unexpectedly went to them and demanded that they return the sled. He said that even though we are still small, if necessary, we are ready to measure strength. They were surprised at this pressure and immediately gave the sled back. And they even looked at him with a certain approval. For me, Vitya became a real friend, as he was not afraid to stand up for me and returned the sleigh.
I was very glad to have such a loyal friend. In the summer, I got a chance to confirm that I am a true friend. We rode our bicycles with him on a country road three kilometers from the country houses where our parents live. Vitya accidentally ran over a stone and fell into a ravine. He badly injured his leg and bike. He couldn't walk on his own. I helped him out of the ravine and he reached the house, leaning on my hand. Then I went back for the bicycles, which we had to leave at the ravine.
Vitya spent a whole week at home because of the fall. But every day I was visiting him and talked about everything that was happening with us. Vitya said that I was his real friend!
