For many years, scientists have been trying to prove the benefits of music for improving brain activity. And they almost succeeded. But why don't schools and universities still play our favorite tunes so that we can learn better and memorize material faster?

Among the teaching staff, as well as in the Ministry of Education, there is an opinion that simultaneous listening to music and doing homework are incompatible things.

My mother told me that during her school and college years, she could not learn a single subject without musical accompaniment. Perhaps this is a consequence of her studies at a music school, or maybe just a habit of working in noisy environments.

As I know, many modern tutors in their classes specifically create additional noise interference to students. This is done so that the child gets used to focusing on tasks under any conditions, without being distracted by the surrounding noise. I think this approach is reasonable, because we can't always find ourselves in absolute silence, and the brain needs to continue to think quickly and solve tasks.

I, too, like my mother, used to do homework and other things to the music. I like different music, I consider myself a music lover. But I prefer to do my homework with slow, melodic music, and clean up with more dynamic music. I also like to sing during my daily activities. And this is good for the lungs and heart. Not music, but a solid benefit.

If I were the Minister of Education, I would definitely put forward the idea to include calm melodies during the educational process, and at recess something very fun to raise the mood.
