An essay based on the work of I.S. Turgenev "Mumu"
In a big city, an old lady, always dissatisfied, who lived out her long life in sorrow and sadness, lived a servant, among whom an enormous worker Gerasim stood out. From birth he was deaf and dumb, did not communicate with anyone, worked as a janitor for a lady, and guarded the house at night. All the servants were afraid of him. Gerasim loved his work, devoting all his time to it.
Among the servants, he noticed Tatyana, who worked as a laundress in a lady's house. She liked him, she was young and beautiful, but Gerasim and Tatiana were not destined to be together. He gave her gifts, made signs of attention. But the lady opposed the marriage of Gerasim and Tatiana. She decided to dispose of the fate of Tatyana and the shoemaker in her own way, married her off to the drunkard Kapiton, and a year later sent her to a remote village so that she would not get confused under the lady's feet. The janitor gave Tatiana a handkerchief at parting, which she was sincerely happy with. Gerasim was very worried about this, went down from grief to the river to think about the situation. His attention was attracted by a puppy, wallowing in the river, whom he saved, brought to his closet.
He named the dog Mumu, she helped guard the house, driving away drunk passers-by away from the house. The lady did not like the barking, she was angry, she was unhappy, ordered to remove the dog. Gerasim, obeying the will of the hostess, threw a rope with a stone around his neck and drowned Mumu in the same river where he had once saved the puppy. Torn apart by torment, he leaves the lady's house and goes to his village, where he was from.
The story is sad, interpreting the dictatorial attitude towards servants. It is impossible to dispose of the fate of people, pets, because life is a fragile sphere that is easy to destroy.
