A boy who does not want to obey the well-established generally accepted rules. Mischievous, fidget, Tom, kind and ready to help at the right time. It is full of romance, inexhaustible ideas, mobility. The thirst for adventure was a source in this boy. The friend was Huck Finn, the son of a local drunkard. Huck did not go to school, he did what he wanted. Friendship was not welcomed by others, but this was not an obstacle for them. Huck supported his friend in everything, feeling in him protection and support.
Tom sometimes skipped school, pulled the girls by the pigtails, received complaints for his mischievous behavior. But nothing could stop him in place: he was constantly in dynamics, filling his every day with interesting ideas and activities, adventures that lived in every vein of him.
He dreamed of traveling. A night trip to the cemetery, and then to the caves, did not lead to anything good: they found there an Indian who had killed a doctor in the cemetery. Escaping from the caves, covering the exit behind them, they escaped. But then they returned, finding Joe's hidden treasure and a dead Indian who could not get out.
Romance and adventure push Tom forward. The life of friends on the island gives them an idea of isolation from the world, a sense of independence, since the boys are left to themselves. A lighted bonfire and dinner give room for the development of thoughts of adventure. Friends take a break from the moral admonitions of adults, dream of the future. The world is interesting for Tom in all its forms. It doesn't matter to Tom what position he occupies in society.
