The love story of Maria Gavrilovna and officer Burmin shows how one incident can completely change people's lives. Or maybe this is not a case, everyone has their own destiny, which is predetermined even at our birth? The story "Snowstorm" makes us think about eternal questions, the exact answer to which we do not know.
On the day of the proposed wedding, Maria Gavrilovna, a young provincial lady, was happy. Her wish will come true, and she will become the wife of Warrant Officer Vladimir, whom she is madly in love with. Maria's parents, wealthy landowners, did not approve of their daughter's choice, so the wedding was held in secret. But the girl's plans were changed by a blizzard. Arriving at the church, Maria does not find her fiancé. He was caught in a severe blizzard and lost his way. The hussar colonel, driving past the church, decided to have fun and pass himself off as the groom. Maria was unconscious and only after the wedding she realized what had happened.
It would seem that a blizzard and a mischievous joke burst into the lives of the heroes like an evil fate. Maria could not get married, since she was already the wife of a person she did not know. Vladimir was disappointed by the act of Mary, went to war and died tragically. And Burmin, as soon as he realized the stupidity of his act, realized that he was bound by marriage.
But one more twist of fate changes everything in the lives of the heroes. Maria Gavrilovna and already General Burmin meet after the war and fall in love for real. Their happiness is hampered by understatement. Burmin tells the girl how, for a joke, he got married to an unknown girl and now does not know how to find her. And what was the surprise of Mary, who finally saw her husband.
Can we still call that blizzard an evil fate? In my opinion, the natural element has united loving hearts, even though it took time.
Often we believe that above the circumstances, everything is in our hands, and it is we who keep our lives under control. The story "Snowstorm" by A.S. Pushkin makes us think and understand that our omnipotence is false prejudices, and fate will put everything in its place.
