My grandmother's name is Ekaterina Alexandrovna. But everyone calls her Baba Katya. She lives in the village. Previously, before retirement, my grandmother worked as a veterinarian on the farm. Grandma knows almost everything about cows. In her youth, even during her studies, she worked as a milkmaid. The family was very tight with finances. Therefore, she had to help her parents.
Grandpa has been living with my grandmother for almost 40 years. They have lived together for most of their lives. Grandpa is very kind and smart. He is also very strong. When guests come, he likes to show tricks and tell anecdotes. And Grandma bakes pancakes or pancakes. She perfectly cooks not only simple dinners, but also complex dishes, like in an expensive restaurant. My mother learned to cook thanks to my grandmother.
The grandmother lives in a small house, which was once built by the grandfather together with his brothers. There are outbuildings, a vegetable garden and a beautiful garden around the house. The plot itself is located in a very picturesque part of the village. Hilly meadows and forest are clearly visible from the southern windows of the house. And if you go behind the garden, you can admire the lake. I am glad that grandfather chose such a beautiful place.
My grandmother is fond of growing garden flowers. Irises, lilies, tulips, roses and other representatives of the flora grow under her care. When I come to the village, my grandmother allows me to take care of them. There are many bees on the flowers. I'm not afraid of them, they don't just bite. They arrive from a neighbor's apiary. Last year she tried to grow gladioli, but for some reason they did not germinate. But the watermelons have grown well.
Grandma is a big lover of outdoor activities. He rides well on a bike and skiing in winter. She does not like to while away the days sitting on a bench. I often go with her to the forest for mushrooms and berries. We also walk a lot in the neighborhood, swim in the lake. I am grateful to my grandmother for teaching me how to swim. And now she doesn't have to worry when I go swimming alone.
I really love my grandmother. My parents are always happy to see her too. I cannot imagine my life without this sweet and kind person. But I can only visit her a few times a year. The three summer months that I spend in the countryside are the best parts of my life.
