The image of Vladimir Dubrovsky in the novel "Dubrovsky" by A.S. Pushkin

Roman A.S. Pushkin "Dubrovsky" is named after the name of the main character. This name was given after the death of the author, since during the life of Alexander Sergeevich the novel was not published. This work belongs to the so-called robber novels. In them, in the center of the narrative is the man endowed with nobility, but transgressed the law.

One of the main characters of the novel is Vladimir Dubrovsky. The young man was born into a noble family. His mother died early, and he was raised by his father and nanny. Although he did not see his father often. When Vladimir was eight years old, he was sent to the Cadet Corps. The father sent money to his son for maintenance, paid for his studies, but his father's influence was still not enough. Young Dubrovsky, becoming an officer, wasted his parent's money. He fell in love with living on a luxurious foot and was carried away by card games. Because of this, he began to have debts, but Vladimir hoped to pay them off by choosing a rich bride for his wife.

But soon everything changed. The nanny sent a disturbing letter to Vladimir. It said that between Andrei Dubrovsky and his neighbor and his former friend Troyekurov there was a quarrel and litigation, and Vladimir's father is now in a serious condition. The young officer immediately went to his home estate, forgetting about life in the capital. Despite the fact that there was no special spiritual closeness between father and son from an early age, young Dubrovsky still loved his parent: "The thought of losing his father painfully tormented his heart ..."

Arriving at the estate, the younger Dubrovsky learns the details of the quarrel between Andrei Dubrovsky and the landowner Troyekurov. It turned out that in order to annoy the father, the neighbor sued him and, dishonestly, through bribery, got him to be given the Dubrovsky estate. The father dies, and when they come to take away the estate, Vladimir decides to set fire to his home, just not to give it to the culprit of the death of the parent. Gathering loyal peasants with him, the main character decides to create a robber gang and become its leader. However, their intentions can be said to be noble. They never attack poor and honest people, and only rob the rich.

Vladimir wants to take revenge on Troekurov. And the main character gets a chance to get a job with his enemy as a teacher instead of the Frenchman Deforge. But the plans were not destined to come true, as the young man got acquainted with the daughter of the landowner and fell in love with her. The feeling of love overcomes the desire for revenge. The love of Vladimir and Masha was romantic and sincere. But the girl's father was against the marriage between them. As the wife of his daughter, he chose another person - a wealthy elderly neighbor of Prince Vereisky. The ending of the novel is sad. Vladimir Dubrovsky, despite all his efforts, could not prevent Masha from marrying a man she hated. He arrived too late to save her from this. Mary could no longer break the oath given to God and people. In the end, Vladimir dismisses his robbers and disappears.

In my opinion, A.S. Pushkin in his novel presented a very interesting hero in the person of Vladimir Dubrovsky. The author shows the readers how a young rake, who was initially interested only in revelry, becomes a noble man. After the death of his father, which shocked him, the young man tries to act according to his conscience. He reveals the truth to Maria Troekurova about how he got into their house and what his original intentions were. Vladimir gives her the right to choose. When Dubrovsky decides to disband his peasants, he tells them that they should no longer engage in robbery, but should begin a quiet and peaceful life. As a result, the rebellious spirit of the main character gives way to a noble upbringing.
