Since ancient times man has sought to learn more about the world and, in particular, about the nature to obtain the ability to use it for their own purposes. People believed the earth was something alive, lifted her, thanked.
However, technological progress has violated the harmony of coexistence of man and nature. The horse, which was a faithful companion and a favorite of the farmer, the animal, which was worshipped earlier was no longer needed. Hundreds of horses from the story eked out its existence , was unkempt and useless. They languished, fainted from thirst, but nobody cared before.
On their background stands out a spirited horse Red. She has not lost more optimism, energy, and, unlike the others, she decided to know the truth of its existence. She realized how bad their situation is and how deteriorated their appearance compared to antiquity. She wants to change her future and that of their relatives.
The author of the story introduces the reader to the problems that exist at the moment in the natural world. Because of them the culprit is none other than people. The author wants to induce in the readers a sense of responsibility for the deterioration of life.
There is another side of the story. Perhaps in the form of a horse, the author wanted to portray people suffer from excessive day-to-day work. After all, the progress has given new life to the big cities, metropolises, and the lives of the tiny villages on their knees. The position of the peasants not so long ago differed little from that of the horses. For the hard everyday work, the residents have meager rewards.
In this story rises a lot of real problems. This work forces the reader to think about the environment and about their own existence.
