 The young girl Assol could not boast of an easy, carefree life. Mom died early. There were no friends, the villagers disliked the young dreamer and considered her crazy. One father became Assol's parent, friend and companion. They lived poorly, barely making ends meet. But despite the difficulties in life and the ridicule of people, Assol grew up a kind and sympathetic girl.


 Once the traveler Egle, a collector of fairy tales, predicted the future of Assol: the prince would sail to Kaperna on a white ship with scarlet sails and take the beauty with him. As a girl, Assol believed the traveler's words, although the locals laughed at her. The young dreamer did not doubt the truth of the prediction and waited for the ship with scarlet sails, not paying attention to the piercing grins.


 Little Gray is the only child in a wealthy family. The boy wanted to become a captain from childhood, but his parents did not support the boy's desire and believed that they knew better what their son wanted. And then the fifteen-year-old boy dared to take a fateful bold step to make his dream come true. Gray leaves his parental home and gets a job as a cabin boy on a schooner. He had to work hard to master shipping, navigation and maritime law. But Gray did not give up his dream. After five years of hard work, perseverance and patience, he buys a ship and becomes a captain.


 Assol and Gray are young people who loved life, dreamed and wanted happiness. The history of their lives teaches the main thing: no matter what difficulties life presents, no matter what people surround, you must believe in yourself, your dream and not give up hope for a miracle. A dream inspires and gives strength, makes life joyful and bright. The two main characters knew what they wanted, never for a minute doubted the correctness of the planned path and in return found love and happiness.


 Someone will think that this is a fairy tale. But this tale Gray brought to life without the expected magic. Having met a beautiful stranger, he fell in love at first sight. For her, Gray is ready to work a miracle, to bring a fairy tale to life and become that very prince. He only needed to change the sails to scarlet and sail on the ship for Assol. Gray's act confirms that dreams come true through our actions.
