Pushkin was prompted to write the novel "Dubrovsky" by the story of one of his friends about a nobleman named Ostrovsky. This nobleman sued his neighbor for an estate, and then he was ousted from there. Left alone with his peasants, Ostrovsky organized a band of robbers. Pushkin only changed his last name.


 The main character of the novel is Vladimir Dubrovsky. He returns from St. Petersburg, having learned about the poor health of his father.


 Dubrovsky was a young nobleman, but his estate passed to Troyekurov. Now Vladimir, together with the peasants loyal to him, creates a gang of robbers.


 The protagonist hates Troekurov because of the death of his father. He also blames him for suing his own Kistenevka for himself. Dubrovsky vows to take revenge on the master at any cost.


 Vladimir has a number of positive qualities. He is educated, well-mannered, always behaves honestly and with dignity with everyone. Even as the leader of the outlaws, he only acts for noble purposes.


 Having met the daughter of Troekurov, Dubrovsky sharply changes his attitude towards Troekurov. His thirst for revenge fades into the background. Now Vladimir is driven only by a feeling of love for Masha. He forgives the master for all his sins.


 In the end, all of Dubrovsky's plans collapse. He could not take revenge on Troekurov, and also could not get the hand and heart of his beloved Masha. She leaves with her fiancé, and Vladimir has to give up everything and go abroad.


 I am sincerely sorry that Vladimir at one moment lost everything that he had. He had a title of nobleman, his own estate, excellent growth in the service. But in an instant it all just collapses. Only love for Masha could save Dubrovsky. But Vladimir loses this hope, having lost his beloved forever. Now he is forced to hide from justice abroad.
