I so love to go to the village to see my grandmother! I especially enjoy spending my winter holidays there. Not far from the grandmother's house there is a forest and a river. The winter air in the village is so clean and fresh. Nothing here reminds of the hustle and bustle of the city.
Usually I come to my grandmother in the evening. She feeds me dinner and asks about my progress in school. Early in the morning I go for a walk in the forest. I have a thermos and pies with me. I also take a packet of seeds and nuts for forest dwellers. Birds and squirrels have a hard time in winter. I really want to feed them. Grandma stays at home to cook something delicious.
A winter morning is a mesmerizing sight. Everything around is as if covered with a snow carpet. Trees and bushes put on snow-white hats. Thousands of snowflakes are dancing in the air. It seems that you are visiting the Snow Queen.
Arriving in the forest, you plunge into a fabulous atmosphere. Mighty oaks and pines stand like giants. A titmouse is heard somewhere nearby. Red squirrel jumping from branch to branch. Probably little squirrels are waiting for her at home. Looks like the time has come for me to get my presents. I sprinkle nuts and seeds in the snow. Now birds and animals will have something to feast on.
The winter day is very short. The sun is in a hurry to hide behind the horizon again. Twilight begins to deepen. This means that it is time to return home. After all, my grandmother is worried. She has already baked pies and is waiting for me to return. I have something to tell her. I confess that a walk in the winter forest made a deep impression on me.
