Disappointment and degradation in the story "Ionych" by A.P. Chekhov
The work "Ionych" reflects the relationship between the girl Yekaterina Turkina and Dr. Dmitry Ionovich Startsev. The man is in love with Kitty, as everyone calls the girl in the house, but she plays with his feelings. A date at the cemetery is a confirmation of the above.
Kitty played with the feelings of Startsev, whose thoughts were only about this girl. The doctor, endowed with intelligence and worldly experience, understood that a date at a cemetery was a whim and a joke. But what was to be done if love won the heart of the doctor? He comes. Kitty's trick dealt a blow to the feelings of Dmitry Ionovich, who is gradually beginning to move away from his love.
Disappointment led to the fact that the handsome doctor begins to degrade. He is gaining excess weight, breathing heavily. Also, the problem lies in the fact that behind the eyes of a talented doctor they begin to call him Ionych, who gets rich, but loses both his appearance and the desire to live. He is not happy with income, although he tries to find happiness in them.
The degradation of personality occurred due to the fact that the hero of the story was disappointed in love. In life, there are the same situations. A person often draws an image for himself, but the other half does not meet expectations. However, it is even worse when feelings are played, as it was with Startsev. Ekaterina Turkina opened his eyes with her behavior to the fact that even her family, considered to be quite educated, turned out to be a completely ordinary family. Ionych became a victim of his love and weakness. It's difficult to judge, but perhaps something snapped in his heart, so he lost interest in this life.
