My grandmother Galya is the best in the world. She knows how to bake such delicious pies! Grandma knows thousands of different recipes. It will not be difficult for her to bake Napoleon cake, apple pie, cheesecakes or cakes. My grandmother puts her soul into her culinary masterpieces. That is why they are so delicious.
I asked my grandmother many times to share her recipes with me. She always just smiled back and said that she had no particular secret. All baked goods are prepared as described in the old recipe book. Her grandmother was given as a present when she was still a little girl. Much time has passed since then. However, the recipe book miraculously survived to this day.
Grandma Galya bakes pies almost every day. This has already become a kind of ritual for her. She baked an apple pie yesterday. It is also called "charlotte". I helped my grandmother cut apples into cubes and mix them with vanilla sugar. Then we kneaded the egg and flour dough. After that, my grandmother helped me arrange the apples for deco. In the end, we poured the dough over them and put the future pie in the oven. The apartment was filled with the sweetish scent of charlotte. Grandma had prepared a nice pie dish in advance. Soon it was time to take our charlotte out of the oven. My grandmother and I put the still warm cake on the table and cut it into pieces. I so wanted to try it as soon as possible!
It tasted surprisingly aromatic, juicy and sweet. I've never eaten anything like this in my life! If there were a culinary competition, the grandmother's "charlotte" would have won first place.
I really want to learn how to bake the same delicious pies. However, I don't know many of the culinary secrets. Perhaps in time I can learn them. For now, I just have to feast on my grandmother's pie. Too bad there is only one piece left!
