The legend of the biblical manna
The legend says that Moses received the order of God to return to Egypt and lead his people to the promised Land. For 40 years they walked through the desert, and once food is over, and then God sent them manna that fed of all people. But each felt different taste of bread, honey, butter.

In the Proverbs, manna is described as a seed. The biblical book of Exodus says that manna was there almost every night and every morning after the disappearance of dew. It had to collect on the same day, because the night unusual food rot, and there are parasites.

Reading books about the Bible, you can find different interpretations of the manna. Reflections on manna should begin with the study of the term. The word "manna" comes from the Hebrew question "what is this?". It is the Israelis should have asked when he first saw an unknown food.

There are at least several theories on the subject. One of them suggests that the mysterious manna is actually a kind of fungus that grew in the desert of the Sinai Peninsula. Although this does not explain the rapid decomposition of the product, but explains very well the early hours when we had to collect for later use.

An alternative theory assumes, however, that manna was a product of some technology. This belief comes from the collection of comments and interpretations of the Torah or sacred books of the Jews.

Other authors in the biblical text of the description and taste of manna: it was white like coriander seed and had a taste of bread with honey. At the beginning of the 20th century, the Arabs living in the Sinai Peninsula, was sold to strangers visiting their land of "blue bread." It could be sweet resin bushes of tamarisk. (The area, which was the Israelis were not in the strict sense of the word desert, it is rather a steppe, mostly without water, but not entirely fruitless).

Another version. Spring in the Sinai Peninsula to stop the quails migrating from Africa and Arabia to the Mediterranean countries. Weakened by flight over the sea, they fall and can be easily caught. If the appearance of the quails can be seen as a natural phenomenon, inexplicable that this food was enough for many Israelis. So they saw this extraordinary phenomenon – the help of God.

The truth is, (even if we treat the texts of the Bible symbolically) that some force sent them extraordinary food, the nature of which we still know nothing. Manna was a testimony of God's blessings for the people of Israel. God cares about the basic needs of their children while they remain faithful to him.
