The feat is a heroic act, the perfect person to rescue the lives of other people, risking their own lives. The concept of "heroism" is often associated with the war, when conditions contribute to the manifestation of heroic deeds, valor and courage.
But in civilian life a feat. To save a drowning child, pull a kitten from a burning house, to protect the weak from the attacks of a bully, it's also the feat of showing character and the will of man, capable of risking his life for others.
Vasily Terkin, the eponymous hero of the poem Tvardovsky real hero, perform feats for their country and comrades.
Terkin was not afraid to cross the river to the other side, for the sake of their comrades-in-arms, who waited for reinforcements. He manages to shoot the enemy aircraft, which probably would be destroyed in battle thousands of people. Basil is not afraid to take responsibility for the lives of an entire company of people that killed the commander.
All this is a manifestation of heroism, and of heroism for the people who are around you and those who are waiting for your return home.
Andrey Sokolov, the main character of the novel by Mikhail Sholokhov "the Destiny of man" not only fought, but also saved a baby, a little boy, whom the war has deprived families. It just took pity on the child, he adopted him, thereby giving him warmth, love and a new family. This act of Andrew, too, is quite a feat.
A feat is an act that puts the interests of a stranger above his own "I", thereby showing to others humanity, heroism and fortitude.
