What is the true beauty of man
An essay based on the story of V.P. Astafieva "A photograph in which I am not" (8th grade)

What do we mean when we say that a person is beautiful. Is it just visual appeal? Or something else? Or maybe beauty is a whole complex of positive characteristics of a person - both external and internal?

Each person understands beauty in his own way.

After reading Astafiev's work "A photograph in which I am not," we learn new facets of human nature, including true beauty.

The people about whom the author leads the story live a simple village life. Their living conditions are extremely simple, and they only have enough money for the most necessary. Portraying his characters, Astafiev paints them as illiterate, but very sincere people.

We see the true beauty of the soul - responsive, always ready to help people.

Astafiev considers simplicity to be the main feature of the life of these people. The furnishings of the courtyards described by him and the interior decoration of the houses are unusually simple, even primitive. However, this does not prevent people living in this rustic simplicity from having a beautiful soul and doing good deeds.

Or what is not a manifestation of the beauty of the heart, the behavior of a person who did not go to be photographed because his friend was ill. The work shows the hero's inner struggle with temptation, because the arrival of a photographer in a village is a rare occurrence.

This is an example of selflessness and consciousness, lack of selfishness and selfishness.

Before us, the author draws many examples of true beauty. Uncle Leonty, a drinking man, turns out to be kind and sympathetic. The villagers help each other in everything, and if something goes wrong, you can be sure that they will always lend a helping hand.

Astafiev opens the amazing country of human kindness to readers.

Village women help the young teacher, taking care of both her and her child, not in words, but in deeds. Is this not an example of the true greatness of the human soul?

A common thread in the story is the idea that the true wealth and beauty of a person is in selflessness, honesty, kindness and mutual assistance. Beauty is in the human heart!
