An essay based on the work of I.S. Turgenev "Asya"
The story begins with the sad narration of a middle-aged man about an event that happened twenty-five years ago in a small German town on the banks of the majestic Rhine.
The young man N.N. after receiving his education, he traveled the world, he was interested in everything, especially watching people, without leaving his comfort zone. The guy was not poor, he did not like to meet his fellow countrymen and did not want to. He liked the life he indulged in.
At one of the events, he meets Russians. He liked communicating with a handsome young man Gagin and his sister Asya, who, it seems, was more to him than his sister. Gagin was too protective of the girl.
Gagin, educated and decent condition, is engaged in painting. All paintings are filled with life and truth, there was breadth and freedom, but none of them was completed. There was a lack of tenacity and inner heat in his character. Youth did not sparkle in him, but glowed quietly. In order to be an artist, you have to work constantly, and this is beyond the strength of Gagin.
His sister was pretty, small in stature, but a little reserved and reserved. N.N. liked her.
Asya was born a servant Tatiana. The girl's father was Gagin's father, who, dying, asked his son to take care of the girl. She grew up in a peasant hut until she was thirteen. Then, as her mother died, the master took the girl into the house. She felt changes in life, worried, but could not change anything.
After the death of her father, she goes to study at the Petersburg boarding school, which she graduates at the age of seventeen. And Asya goes abroad with her brother. There she meets a Russian guy with whom she falls in love and decides to marry him. But he gets a refusal. Not hearing a single word from her lover, she decided with Gagin to leave the German town and go to London.
N.N. at a crossroads, he is confused and realizes that he also loves. But I was late. In the morning he appears at the Gagins' house, but does not find them, they left.
With mixed feelings, upset, he packs his suitcase and goes after Asya to London. But the paths are cut off, traces are lost. And the rest of his life is in confusion, in losses, discontent, for, despite the presence of numerous women, in the life of N.N. the spark that the young seventeen-year-old girl managed to awaken in him never again lit up.
