Creativity M.Yu. Lermontov on one poem
Creativity M.Yu. Lermontov has been considered for many decades by historians and literary critics and still never ceases to amaze readers.

The poem "Sail" is the most multifaceted, connected with all the poet's work and at the same time completely independent and internally complete, personifying all of his explosive poetry. It shows how just 12 lines make you think about the realities of life.

To analyze the poem "Sail", you need to go back to its origins to see the place that made Lermontov take up his pen and understand why it was written.

Without graduating from Moscow University, Lermontov left for St. Petersburg and here on the coast of the Gulf of Finland this magnificent work was born for the first time.

The general idea of the poem is a person and his place in the world. Anxiety and excitement that accompany us. As if it is in the storm that the very ray of light that will give you a break, will calm down. Although it seems to me that in fact he is not looking for peace and quiet, because he is a rebel and, on the contrary, thirsts for vivid colorful impressions.

Due to the special expressiveness of the work, it is perceived not as a simple description of the landscape, but as a hidden inner psychological meaning.

There are only 12 lines, but what a deep meaning they have in themselves. Everything is permeated with the theme of freedom, although this particular word is not in the poem. Free and alone, like Lermontov at that moment, he is trying to find the meaning of life, a higher goal that will give him food for further existence.

The sail is a poem with deep meaning. Poetic thought is reflected in the plot of the work: the reader always sees a seascape with a sail, and the author thinks about it. In addition, in the first two lines of each quatrain, an image of the changing sea appears, and in the last two, the sensation it evokes is conveyed.

And what does the poet himself tell us about the "sail"? He "seeks", "threw", "asks", "runs", that is, everything that can only be done by a living, rational being - a man.

But the sea is changing. The headwind raises waves, and they are ready to crush the boat, break the sail, “the mast bends and creaks”. The feeling of vague anxiety at the sight of this image turns into sad despair from the realization thatthat there is and will not be peace and that happiness is generally impossible for him.

Mikhail Yuryevich's poems cannot be confused with anyone else. It is characterized by subtlety, grace, which fills the soul of the reader with harmony and creativity, which cannot leave any person indifferent.
