The image of Eugene Onegin in the novel of the same name
The novel in verse "Eugene Onegin" was written by Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin in the first quarter of the 19th century (1823-1830). Two centuries have passed, but the work has not lost its relevance and it is useful for today's reader to read it.

The protagonist of the novel is Eugene Onegin, a nobleman who received a typical education for that time. The young dandy, thanks to his natural beauty and manners, was popular with women. He loved social life and spent days on end at balls, in the theater or at dinner parties. It would seem, live, yes, rejoice, there are no difficulties on the way and there is only carefree time ahead. But for eight years, an empty idle life was boring and disgusting. "To live without a goal, without work", it turns out, is boring and does not arouse interest in anything. In addition, prosperity and permissiveness played a role in the formation of Onegin as a person. A spoiled egoist has grown out of him.

The question arises: what is so interesting for such a young man today, in the 21st century? The fact is that, although two centuries have passed, such Onegins can be found today. The representative of the golden youth, whom parents or close relatives allow to do whatever they want, are not forced to work, to do something useful, turns over time into a bored Eugene Onegin.

How was Onegin's fate? A trip to the village to see his uncle introduces the hero to Lensky and his sisters Tatyana and Olga. He is sincerely attached to Lensky and considers him a friend. At heart, Onegin despised class prejudices, did not consider the opinion of stupid people important. And at the same time, he kills a friend in a duel, fearing condemnation and frightened of "the whisper, the laughter of fools." The weak character alienates even more from the main character of the novel.

But fate will play a cruel joke with him. Self-confident Onegin rejected the love of young Tatyana, a gifted and morally pure girl. However, after returning from wandering around Russia, he falls in love with Tatyana Larina. The girl is still in love with Onegin, but she is married and will not betray her husband. This is how she was brought up.

It is worth noting that Onegin changed after the trip: he managed to look at life from a different angle and understand how he wasted it pointlessly. Alexander Pushkin gave his hero a second chance: he gave him the opportunity to be morally reborn, to understand that he has full strength to change. And to us, the future generation, Alexander Pushkin wanted to say that everyone who has lost the taste for life has a second chance to find oneself.
