Acmeism as a direction of the Silver Age literature
The Silver Age was rich in genres and trends in art. We must admit the fact: there was a special breakthrough in literature, because 3 directions appeared that brought their zest to the art of words.
If we designate the main directions, then they will be: symbolism, acmeism, futurism. If we judge about the approach to the origins of classical literature, then it is necessary to designate acmeism. This direction opposed itself to others due to the choice of clear forms of presentation.
It is believed that Nikolai Gumilyov developed the basic principles of this direction. They are contained in exactly the words. The Acmeists tried to avoid ambiguity, as was often the case in the works of Symbolist writers. Who was the creator of the "understandable" direction?
Gumilev and Mandelstam, in fact, stood at the origins of Acmeism. An interesting point: positioning themselves as "comprehensible art", acmeists sometimes created mystical works in which there were hidden messages to readers.
An example is the poem "Soul and Body", which seemingly has a completely understandable opposition, but has a deep philosophical meaning. Dreams and consciousness - everything is intertwined. Gumilev draws images that the Symbolists can envy.
Acmeism brought mysticism to literature, the ability to simply express thoughts. At the same time, the Acmeist poets were able to create a special flavor. To some extent, they adhered to the traditions of Russian classical literature. The role of acmeism is to show the futurists the power of the golden era of Russian literature. This happened in practice, although the Acmeists opposed themselves primarily to the Symbolist writers.
