Does a specific society need changes and for what reasons

Essay for grade 11 on the topic “Does a specific society need changes and for what reasons?”

In my opinion, any changes represent a new stage in the life of every person, dividing this life into before and after. Thanks to these changes, a person realizes his own development, improving not only himself personally, but also the environment in which he lives. Change is, in a way, a person's maturation, setting him on a new road leading to perfection. For evidence, let us turn to several works of famous Russian and foreign authors.

In the novel "Fathers and Sons" I.S. Turgenev boldly reveals the topic of a new category of citizens, people who deny the foundations and habits of society that have been formed for centuries, rejecting the values imposed on a person by the church, calling people within society to free relationships. After all, this is how Evgeny Bazarov appears before the reader - the main character of the work. Through the direct speech of his character, the author speaks about the need to "clear the place", practically speaking directly about the overthrow of the tsarist regime, which has set its teeth on edge. It was from such individuals that the situation arose that led the country to revolution, to global changes, which could no longer be reversed.

Continuing the consideration of the topics indicated in the title of this work, we can name, at all, without error against the truth, the work of the American writer Harper Lee "To Kill a Mockingbird". On the pages of his work, the author places a sincere call for the elimination of racial discrimination by introducing into the pages of the novel the lawyer Atticus Finch, an ardent fighter against misanthropic attitudes towards each other within his own town. As part of his professionalism, he provides protection to a black character who is undeservedly accused of a crime that he did not commit. For those times when this novel was released, it was like a bomb that exploded that managed to divide the States into 2 camps. - a society of racists, for whom their advantage of the white race over the black race does not cause the slightest doubt, and the society of thosewho diligently opposed the very concept.

In conclusion, it should be noted that people like Bazarov or Finch always appeared in society, trying to change it .. And the real paradox was that, by implementing such revolutionary intentions, society increased the mutual tolerance of its constituent people. This fully explains the need for change in society as a catalyst for its development.
