Composition based on the novel Crime and Punishment
Theme "Eternal Sonya"
Dostoevsky’s novel “Crime and Punishment” is saturated with deep tragedy and a feeling of sympathy for the lower strata of the population who have fallen into difficult situations. These people include Katerina Ivanovna, whose life circumstances forced her to marry Marmeladov, so as not to be left with three children after the death of her husband. Marmalade himself is a hostage of a sad fate to accept the fall of his daughter. And of course Sonya. The brightest image of the work, which incorporates Christian love and the sacrifice of a person who sells himself in the name of the well-being of his family.
Student Rodion Raskolnikov follows the implementation of his theory, according to which not all people are equally worthy of life. Dostoevsky in the person of Sonya is the main contrast between this theory and debunking the opinion of the existence of a superman. Young confused belongs to the category of "meek". Unlike Rodion, whose crime is caused by a desire to prove the theory and improve his own life, Sonya’s actions are justified by a desire to help a loved one. The young harlot pushes the killer to repentance. Through the figure of Marmeladova, the author shows the true face of the people, patience and humility, god-fear and kindness, despite the difficult conditions in which the heroine is forced to survive.
Through the "Eternal Sonya" Rodion learns and is imbued with a sense of love, finds a resurrection for his sick soul. Through it, the author himself speaks to us, revealing the true purpose and ability of a person in any situation to remain true to himself, to be able to forgive and help his neighbor, to feel compassion and to extend a helping hand.
