Our rapidly running time, gave the world amazing inventions and discoveries. The computer is the thing that has changed the lifestyle of many people. The Internet has entered almost every home and made it possible for everyone to receive the necessary information. Any of us at a convenient time can easily read an e-book. But a huge number of people continue to read ordinary books, for this they have different reasons.
Every evening before going to bed, my mother sits on a soft, comfortable sofa, wraps herself in a fluffy blanket, picks up a book and plunges into the unique world of literature. At such a moment, my father and I try not to distract her, my mother is resting, enjoying communication with a printed source. Once I asked her why she does not use a computer, it is convenient to listen to works performed by masters of the artistic word. Mom explained that she enjoys the process of communicating with the book. The reading process is preceded by a trip to the library, where you can wander around the shelves with various literature to your heart's content, find something you need. It is very interesting to talk with the library staff, who know everything about the latest literature. Mom chooses a book and hurries home, she can't wait to finish things as soon as possible, get comfortable in her favorite place,hold a book in hands, turn pages, consider illustrations. There are so many pleasant moments before reading.
I also love old books. When I get my hands on a very old volume of poetry or adventure stories, I reflect on what the author was thinking when he started working on the book. Sometimes I buy an old piece of literature in a new edition. I like to hold it in my hands, to feel the fresh smell of paper and the tart scent of paint. I enjoy looking at the pictures in the book, fantasizing about how I myself could portray the main characters, their friends or enemies. I am attracted by the language of these books, it has a special charm, sometimes it contains a riddle for me. Sometimes I do not understand a certain word, I have to look for its meaning in the dictionary. But how nice it is to realize later that I learned something new.
Of course, the Internet gives us many advantages, but even it is not able to replace live communication with a literary source, which is why we value and love old books so much.
